How to find your Rolex model number
The serial number of a genuine Rolex watch is engraved deeply into its metal. This number is situated behind where the band joins the watch’s body on the 6 o’clock side. On the contrary, a fake Rolex timepiece usually has the serial number carved with acid. Find My Rolex Serial Number. Rolex Serial numbers on pre-2007 Rolex watches can be found engraved between the lugs on the side of the case just above the 12 o’clock mark. Here you will find a 4-6 digit number that can indicate not just the model type but also the bezel type and material of your watch. The serial number of your watch is engraved on the case at the 6 o'clock end between the lugs. You will need to remove the bracelet/strap to see it. The model reference is engraved in the same place at the 12 o'clock end. As of August 2010, serial numbers for new Rolex watches are randomized, making it impossible to use the numbers for dating.
Rolex model or reference numbers can be found on the watch case (They are also listed on the documentation that is provided with the watch). You will have to remove the bracelet/strap to find it. The reference/model number is engraved between the lugs on the 12 o’clock side where the bracelet meets the watch case.
- To find your Rolex's serial number remove the strap at the 6 o'clock position and the serial number will be engraved on the case between the lugs. It is 5-7 digits and may start with a letter. It will NOT have letters in the middle.
- Rolex has an individual model number assigned to every type of watch that it has ever made. Although each watch could actually have a different style of case, dial, hands, bezel and bracelet the model number is that assigned to that type of watch.

ROLEX Submariner
![Bob Bob](/uploads/1/3/4/1/134186365/385737311.jpg)
Rolex has been creating the iconic Submariner watch since 1953; it has a robust construction and functional design to make it the perfect diving watch. Throughout its history, the Submariner has been contained in a high-quality and durable oyster case. Often associated with famous names such as Jacques Cousteau, James Bond, Sean Connery, and British Royal Navy and the most sought after Comex diving editions with Red and double Red.
The original launch in 1954 claimed the watch could achieve depths of 200 meters which no other company at the time could achieve. What was the rotating bezel for? It was designed to show divers how much dive time they have had and guided them to knowing what air was left in the tank. Another obstacle they overcame was divers using thick gloves, Rolex invested the triple lock clasp to help this issue.
There have been only minor modifications made to Submariners over the years, including adding a helium escape valve on certain models and improved luminescent markers. The range now include the iconic stainless steel and black, with our without a date function, 2 tone silver and 18ct gold, 18ct all yellow gold, Green anniversary known as the hulk ,and of course the 18ct White gold with the iconic blue dial.

How to check Rolex watch serial number
Rolex Serial Number
Every authentic Rolex watch has a unique 4 to 8 digit serial number. This identification number is machined into the case of the watch during production. The location of which will depend on the year of manufacture, and age of the timepiece. Rolex has used several locations over the years.
Where to find Rolex serial number
To see the serial number of a Rolex (prior to 2005) you must first remove the watch band at the lugs. Once removed, on one side you have the serial number, and on the other side, you'll find the model number stamped into the case. After 2008 Rolex started engraving serial numbers on the 'rehaut' (this is the inside flange between the dial and the glass). After 2005 the company were engraving serial numbers on both the 'rehaut' and between the lugs, but this was to be phased out in 2008.
